A wide range of exciting activities

Our school holiday programmes provide a wide range of exciting activities, with a strong focus on sport and outdoor recreation. We have a fantastic team of energetic and enthusiastic staff, many are studying towards (or have completed) their sports or teaching degrees. We are accredited by the MSD. WINZ subsidies available.

We provide school holiday programmes for children in the following age ranges

• Legend Kids programme is for children 9 - 13yrs old
• Little Legends is for children 5 - 8 years old.

Christmas Dash 2017

Tis the season to be jolly!!   We're finishing the year with plenty of fun.  Join our festive party, have a day out at the beach, and come with us to watch a Kiwi Christmas.

Summer Holiday Fun January 2018

We love the long summer days at Legend kids and all the extra chances to get out there and active.  We have got heaps of summer fun planned, including our annual Legend Kids Fear Factor, a special day out at Bridge Valley, and plenty of sports and arts.

We are exploring our region with trips to Cable Bay, Kaiteriteri, Rabbit Island and of course fantastic Tahuna Beach.  We are also going to the movies to see the latest box office hits and have plenty of swimming and water fun.

Our seniors have the option to go biking to Nayland pools, and try golf at the Maitai.  And... New for 2018, is our exciting partnership with Krankin Kids to offer mountain biking fun and skills to our Legend Kids! Check out some Nelson trails and have a blast at Kaiteriteri Bike Park.

Please note our Summer Finale week, 29 Jan - 2 Feb, our whole programme will  be based at Founders Park

Founders Arts Week - Week One Only

Summer 15-19 January 2018 - Create Programme under construction. released Dec 11

Our Create Programme is back with lots of fun workshops to Design, Create and Inspire, including  Tie Dye fun and Legend Kids Masterchef.  Little Legends  also have the opportunity to Create and Design, plus plenty of fun games, drama, dress-ups, and time in Founders Park.  In the afternoons we have our marvelous masterclasses including facepaints and swimming.    We love this wonderful opportunity to enjoy Founders Park. Come Join Us!  Children are fully supervised at lunchtime. Places limited. Bookings essential.

Venues

Our Legend Kids and Little Legends School Holiday programmes are based in the Nelson College Sports Area. Access from Franklyn Street.

Our Arts-based Create School Holiday programme is held at Founders Park, meet at the Granary.

Days & Times

Monday-Friday 8:00am until 6:00pm (main programme runs 9:00am-3:00pm, extended hours 3pm-6pm), excluding public holidays. Founders Programme usually ends at 3pm. Transfers to college available

Sports Leaders (2018)

Make new friends and learn new skills with our exciting opportunity for 14-16s. If you love getting active why not try your hand at leading younger children to play games. We welcome enquiries from young people keen to have a go alongside our great team and be part of making Legend Kids programme legendary. Contact Cathy Brown for more details.
